Comcast MPX CMS

The following explains how to provide video data via the Comcast MPX CMS platform.

Required for Import:

Before integrating a CTS client IRIS.TV should receive:

  1. MPX XML feed URL:
    1. MPX feed will be used to import the client's video metadata

MPX Feed URL

The CTS Import uses the MPX XML feed URL. This feed is highly customizable and clients can have multiple custom fields and properties. Please confirm which fields they use for managing availability and tagging.

The CTS MPX feed can be generated from the FEEDS section in the MPX console:

Setting up Import

Media Fields

The MPX feeds is configurable to include any video metadata fields. MPX clients can also have custom tag, keyword, and category fields that are not standard in MPX. We building an MPX feed the client should ensure that the following media fields are included:

  • GUID
  • ID
  • Link
  • Media
  • pid
  • pubDate
  • Title
  • Description
  • Any tag fields (i.e. categoryID, category, tag, keywords, or series)

If available they should include the following:

  • Expiration Date
  • thumbnail URL

Metadata Ingestion

Prior to ingestion, please confirm with the client which:

  • fields should be used for release date and expiration date (if applicable)
  • fields should be used for IRIS.TV keyword and metadata mapping
